The Working
Girl

Free information for women in the industry — safety, money, and self-respect. Your favorite corner of the internet where we keep it unfiltered.

REAL TALK. REAL TIPS. ZERO JUDGMENT. ♥

Why this exists

for sex workers, by a sex worker

Most of what the world says about this industry is about what it takes from you. Almost nobody talks about how to do it safely, keep the money you earn, build habits that set you up for the future, and walk through it with your head up.

That's what this space is for. Papers, blog posts, and straight talk from someone in it — shared woman to woman, for free. You deserve information that treats you like an adult making her own decisions, not a cautionary tale.

Who this is for: women currently working, thinking about it, or getting out — and anyone who wants to understand the reality instead of the stereotype.

What it costs: nothing. Ever.

What we cover

plan. protect. profit. repeat.

Safety

Your safety comes before any dollar amount. Practical, real-world protocols:

  • Screening and vetting like a pro
  • Check-in systems and safety buddies
  • Trusting your gut — it's okay to cancel, it's okay to leave
  • Digital privacy and keeping work separate from home

Money

Earning is one skill. Keeping it is another. Both are learnable:

  • Pricing your time with confidence
  • Saving and budgeting on irregular income
  • Building an exit fund and an emergency fund
  • Turning good months into long-term security

Respect

How you see yourself sets the tone for how everyone else treats you:

  • Boundaries — setting them and holding them
  • Handling disrespect without shrinking
  • Separating the job from your worth
  • Community over competition
